Win Scraping Issue - Files Play Perfectly, but won't load as movies
#1
OK, I hesitate for my first post to be scraping issues, but here goes.

Generally scraping is fine. I have DVDs and Blu-Rays ripped to files by DVD-FAB (100% quality, so some are pretty big), and about 50% of the scrapes are perfect - identification, thumbnails, etc all good. The problem is that it refuses to see some at all. I have the full log at the bottom of the post, but it is long, so here are some snips.

1) Starting the scraping process:

Quote:21:52:15 T:6140 DEBUG: CApplication:TonguerocessMouse: trying mouse action leftclick

21:52:15 T:7176 DEBUG: VideoInfoScanner: Skipping dir 'O:\Video\ISO\Attack The Block\MainMovie\' due to no change (fasthash)

21:52:15 T:7176 DEBUG: VideoInfoScanner: Skipping dir 'O:\Video\ISO\Battle LA\MainMovie\' due to no change (fasthash)

"Attack the Block" is in the database as a movie, it finds it perfectly. "Australia" is not - it looks in the directory, and sees no change, so does nothing. No obvious errors in the log about permissions or anything - I have checked these, and opened up my NAS box to pretty much everyone....

2) If I go to the "files" menu and select Australia, it plays perfectly. The start of the log is below:

So it can clearly see into the Australia directory, and find the video. However, if (in the files menu) I select movie information, then I get a dialogue "No video files found in this path".

The full log is here:

Thanks in advance!

Done more fiddling.

The file structure is a simple blu-ray rip, with the video file in the Stream directory. So:

O:\Video\iso\Australia\MainMovie\BDLIVE1609\BDMV\STREAM\00000.m2ts

With the m2ts file in this location, it is not loaded into the library, but is perfectly playable from the file menu.

If I copy the m2ts file into the Mainmovie directory, there is no change.

If I copy the m2ts file into the Australia directory, then the library picks it up perfectly, and gets artwork etc.

If I create a shortcut in the Australia directory (pointing to the video file in the stream directory), it is not loaded into the library.

This is not a solution, as if I move the file, I cannot load the DVD-FAB mini ISO that I use on other machines.

OK, a sort of fix, but there is a bug in here.

There seems to be a fairly random ability to see and not see content in folders. If I blow away the database, then re-scan, some of the films that were missing appear, and others vanish. Ho hum.

The work around is this.

- From files, select the missing film. If you click "Movie information" at the top level, it will say "no video file found".
- Manually go down into the file structure and find the relevant m2ts or mpls files and click "movie information" - it will now realise that there is a video file here, and you can use the IMDB search to load it into the library. Once there, it works fine.

Note - I am not complaining about the inability of the scanner to get it right - it gets most of them right, and that is fine. The problem is that sometimes it simply cannot find video content that is in an expected place in the directory structure.
