TVHeadend Github MIA?
#1

Hi all,

I was looking at some pull requestes yesterday at the TVHeadend Github site, but today it seems to be offline.
Andomas other projects are still there (ie showtime etc), but the tvheadend section is missing.

https://github.com/andoma/tvheadend

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Nathan

I'll give the short version of what's going on, I'll elaborate when the time permits and the dust has settled.

Basically Andreas (andoma) has agreed to transfer ownership of the code to a github organisation, effectively turning TVH into a community project. Andreas will continue to be lead developer and we're actually hoping all this has sparked his interest in returning to active duty (so we're hoping for great things from him, no pressure Wink ).

But importantly we now have a small team we will be helping him out and who will be looking after specific areas of the code. So we're hoping that things will be picking up in the next few weeks.

Hopefully there will be some new builds coming out, via opdenkamp, to include new features. Though at this stage timescales are undecided, but you will over the coming days/weeks definitely see more activity in the tvheadend master, so expect new cool stuff, but also some stability issues.

oh it was never going to die Wink it was all a question of pulling interested parties together and finding the best way forward. I think we've done that, now we just need to figure out the next steps, but you will definitely see things changing over the coming weeks.

I've already dumped my new EPG code into git master, JT will be including transcoding support (might be useful to pi users, or people wanting to stream to older phones?) and he's also looking at improving muxer support.

But its still early days and we're all trying to find our feet and figure out who's doing what.

Excellent news... TVH is serving me well (after a couple of false starts over the years). Looking forward to the rebirth of TVH Smile

Found a problem with PVR? Report it on Trac, under "PVR - core components". Please attach the full debug log.
