TV Naming Convension
#1
Hello,

I have read the wiki about the TV naming convention but I still have a question. For Hell's Kitchen US version show I'm not sure what the best folder name should be nor the file name. Should the folder name be Hells Kitchen, Hells Kitchen US, Hells Kitchen (US) or some other option? Also with or without spaces between the words? In regards to the file name, Hells Kitchen s01e01.mp4, Hells Kitchen US s01e01.mp4, Hells.Kitchen.s01e01.mp4, Hells.Kitchen..US.s01e01.mp4 or some other combination? With spaces or periods or neither? I am trying to get a proper naming convention so I can do it correctly. Thank you for your time and assistance.

Looks like -

Hell's Kitchen (US)

Then you can separate how you choose; Hell's Kitchen (US) - S01E01 (or 1x01).mkv
or Hell's Kitchen (US).S01E01.mkv (mp4, whatever)

Consider for a moment what happens when XBMC does a scrape... it communicates with a database the default for XBMC is the TVdb and sends your request... if there's a slight naming issue... e.g. US vs UK it will give you a choice... but if you want your selection to go smoothly and without interaction, it would be safe to name it exactly as the way the db has it..

Hell's Kitchen (US)
Hell's Kitchen (UK)

I haven't had too many issues with dots vs spaces... but I have had 'other' equipment cough on dots. I do use dots prior to the season code and after out of habit.

You can do your own searches at this URL http://thetvdb.com/?tab=advancedsearch
