This is far from the first user patch or user build to show up on the forum...

patch works with gotham and audioengine now. how i want kodi/ xbmc to output my audio sources:

my patch is a very "dirty" patch and team-kodi members say its far away from a real patch (and they are right) so i decided not to publish it. the patch works for me so i'm happy, but maybe kodi/ xbmc will integrate more audio options in the future. with ALSA freesurround you can do some real surround processing for 2.0 audio sources, not just the simple kodi/ xbmc channel duplication, please check out the great ALSA plugin at http://micosphere.free.fr/?lang=en

Hi. Was anything ever implemented to different default audio devices for videos and music? I've used the advancedsettings.xml file to default audio playback to my Marantz M-CR603, which is great, but it means I then have to fiddle to get sound coming out of my TV when I play a movie. It would be so useful to say that for music use the Marantz, and for movies use the HDMI TV connection.

Bringing this back to life. Would love to see a feature where I set Music to Analogue, and Videos to HDMI audio output. It would be exactly what we'd need.

Does this work in the latest version of Kodi?  https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=201896
