I'm tying to figure out how to play local radio stations in XBMC. Created a stream file but when I open in XBMC it's saying one or more files failed to play. I'm trying to play these 2 radio stations...
http://www.q1043.com/main.html (stream http://www.iheart.com/live/1465/?autoplay=true)??
and
http://www.newrock1019.com/ (stream http://www.newrock1019.com/listen/) ??
I'm guessing I'm not copying the correct streams. Can someone please give me some help? Thanks!
Help me play local radio stations...

I use the iHeart radio app on my iPhone or iPad and airplay it to my XBMC boxes to get local station content on my XBMC boxes...
they seem to change their stream url's often enough to break things so I just use the legit way and airplay... יונתן בן-חיים "To err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer." -Paul Ehrlich |

You may want to enable XBMC debugging, launch your station and, if it fails to play, check the debug log to see why it failed to play.(2012-08-02 07:27)artrafael Wrote: For the second station, try: http://64.37.241.111/mml/wemp.stream/playlist.m3u8 As far as an add-on to play streaming radio stations, many of these stations intentionally make it very difficult to listen to content unless you come in via a web browser or one of their approval apps for smartphones or tablets. After all, they want you to see their ads or station promos and using a "backdoor" to access their content isn't to their or their advertisers' advantage. As nokdim mentioned above, they frequently change their URLs to keep unofficial apps from continuing to access their content. There are locals stations that make their content more readily accessible. For example, with the NPR add-on, you can listen to approximately 50 New York state public radio stations in XBMC. Have you checked out Icecast or Shoutcast to see if these stations are available there?
