Hi all,

I just installed the 24-Jul version of XBMC for Ubuntu, using the xbmc-live.sh script. First I got an error updating the libcec module, but after manually removed that package the script ran fine. However, upon reboot I now get a login prompt, whereas normally I immediately got the XBMC screen.
I can log in and start xbmc with xinit xbmc-standalone and everything seems fine, but how can I have it started automatically again?

I had this with the latest build also, xbmc-live has been renamed to xbmcbuntu, I got around it by re using the xbmc-live upstart job from the previous packages.

Have a look at Auto Starting XBMC

and create an init.d script.

Thanks mate, that helped.

Next problem was shutting down the system from within XBMC. I only had the option to Exit or Logoff Master User. Following instructions on http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1091724 fix that too. However, I don't have a clue to why this works, or why it stopped working in the first place Confused.
