This is probably a stupid question - but: how do you control the amount of time a picture is shown in a slideshow? The number of sec's in the slideshow settings seems to control how fast pictures are switched but the actual display time of each picture is much shorter on my system. So when running a slideshow the screen is black mostly and each picture flashes on/off at the end of each display period. Only when pausing the picture comes on full time.
(XBMC-Eden, Transparency, Ubuntu 12.04, Intel HD graphics)
Picture Slideshow

Settings>Pictures>Slideshow 'amount of time to display each picture' is not what you're looking for?

No - it seems as if this setting controls when the system switches from one picture to the next. If I set it to, say 10 sec, the screen is black for about 9½ sec and the picture then flashes on/of in about ½ sec from 9.5 sec to the 10th sec.
PS I have two XBMC installations, different HW, and both does it |

Take off Pan & Zoom effects to see if there is an issue with that. My presumption is that you're using 'Confluence'? if not get back to basics with Confluence and a Stable release version of XBMC. In settings/system/ enable debug logging, post the debug log to http://xbmclogs.com/ and link it back to this thread.
To have two machines with the same issue is suspicious |

OK, tried to switch off pan & zoom - no effect. Switched from Transparency to Confluence - no effect - problem still there - and also tried Alaska Rev. Mod. Also no effect.
The strange thing is that when I enable debug logging the problem disappears! Debug log is here:http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=6329 Thanks for your effort |

Almost - the picture does not come on in the beginning of the interval but at the end. Moving the mouse makes it function normally as described in the bug (but as I do not use mouse I had not discovered that). Instead I found out that enabling debugging make it work correctly. But it's annoying to have to look at the debug OSD.
Anyway, thanks both - glad that the bug is confirmed |

Also no effect. Looks like your on a march 2012 build. Since Eden, serious work has been done related to pictures: New jpeg encoder, new caching, etc. etc. So it needed a while for the bugs to iron out. Maybe you can try this on a recent build. @others: Please post debug log |
