Question  Different music player options? Post: #1
Hello,
I am new to XBMC, on the recommendation of a friend who uses it with Linux. However, I am trying to use an HP Slate (7" touch screen) with XBMC to turn it into a jukebox player for my mp3 collection. I'd try the linux options, but the drivers aren't supported for my tablet very well.

So as I fiddle with learning this, I like a lot of what I see. I changed to the re-touched skin bj Jezz_X and it is an improvement, but either I haven't quite figured out the music player options, or it isn't able to do what I want.

Visually, I'd like to show the playing track and tag information or something like that, as well as player controls that are larger than the standard, so that it is easier to use with a touch screen. It would also be nice if part of the window was used to show queued music. Also, a button or tab to take me to the library so people can scroll through and pick songs to add to the queue.

Operationally, I'd like to be able to either run playlists, or easily play all my music on automatic shuffle (which I have sort of worked out), but be able to add specific songs or albums to the queue, regardless of whether I am using a playlist or all the songs.

I have sort of managed to get it going on random songs, but am frustrated with a few issues. It could be me... How do I add songs to the queue? How do I get the song information to show up on the screen? I saw this on screen shots, but when I play a song, the only thing I see are the visualizations, which I could just as well do without if I have the song information and queue.

Are there any good jukebox type addons for XBMC out there? Or is it possible to tweak it to do what I want?

Thanks!

Be patient. XBMC's user base is global. Please wait around 24 hours before bumping your own post unless you have new information to add.

You can make easy links to the XBMC wiki using double brackets around words: [[debug log]] = debug log, [[Add-on:YouTube]] = Add-on:YouTube, [[Adding videos to the library]] = Adding videos to the library, [[userdata]] = userdata, etc

The user interface is down to the Skin you have installed and it's Settings. Look through Settings/Skin settings and have a play.

As for queuing tracks look in Settings/Music/Playback/Queue songs on selection.

More Playlist information can be found here.
