[SOLVED] Is there a program that can append filenames with proper video source?
#1
Without going through my library and renaming, is there a way to bulk rename my video files to include the source or resolution?

I want to change my movies from
moviename (year).ext
to
moviename (year) bluray.ext
or to
moviename (year) 720p.ext

Is there a media manager that can recognize the video source or resolution and automatically append the file name?

If you have your files on a server, you can take a look at my web based media manager ( https://github.com/connors511/PMM ).

It's still under heavy development, and there's no UI for renaming, but you can export a list with all your movies based on a template.
If you know PHP, you can create the template to be a script that renames the files i.e. a .bat or .sh depending on your OS.

Let me know if that's something you wanna try and need help with Smile

I tried the supplemental tools, but couldn't find anything that could recognize the source and re-name it accordingly. Thanks anyway.. I think I have found a solution. I re-did the 'renamer' section in couch potato to include the <source> and <qualitity> then I set up a temporary folder for CP to watch. Im batching my collection over to the temp location and CP seems to be picking them up, recognizing the source/qualitity and renaming them accordingly, then moving them to my unraid movie share.

Connor, now off to check out your media manager, I like watching /following early releases of apps and seeing them evolve.

Thanks

What Im trying to do is 'whip' my collection into a format so XBMC can use the proper disk case image whether it be bluray, dvd, divx or 3D Smile
