Win Stream HD 1080 and 720 over LAN
#1
Hi All

I am having trouble streaming hd video from the server (PC-A) to my XBMC PC (PC-B)

Currently I have SD videos set as a network drive in windows and added to XBMC as library - And they work just fine.
Setting up HD videos the same way does not stream well (pausing every 5 secs, buffering, etc)

I would like to use PS3 Media Servers ability to transcode video on the fly, but XBMC does not see the videos.

What am I doing wrong.

Any help appreciated!!

BigRatty,

XBMC is able to play almost any kind of video on its own. No need to transcode. Anyway, streaming with PS3 Media Server is a network intensive task. So if your problem is network related, you will only add more porblems.

First question : what kind of network connection do you use between your 2 PCs ? WiFi, ethernet (100 mb/s, 1000 mb/s) ?
One tiny test : Use vlc to play a video (SD, then HD). During playback, open the Windows Task Manager then check network & CPU usage (on both computers). This should give you some good information.

Issue was caused by 100mb network and full 40-50GB BD Rips.
