My machine is a striker extreme 775 conroe and 8800 GTS 640 MB with 4 gb of 1066 DDR 2. Putting out 170 to 200 Watts idle. The 8800 is kicking out a lot of heat and noise is it worth changing my card? Is there alternative cheaper noiseless less power hungry card.

If you also play games replace your 8800 with a sapphire 7700 and enjoy!!!

No games only roms I was looking at fan less cards trying to find a cheap one on ebay with a hdmi slot

Why E bay?. Newegg has many for cheap. If your not gaming just get a Nvidia 520, 420, 620

Yeah its a shame we all can't be American, unfortunately I'm just a poor Englishman ( UK ) so I have to resort to eBay or a good deal.
