Here we go: OCZ Agility 3 60GB SATA III for $50. I think that's a reputable brand.

Its better than the other one you listed.

Sandforce controllers have a lot of reliability issues (many have lost faith in OCZ SSD's), I would go with a Marvell controller like this:

Crucial M4 64GB

or this:

Samsung 830 Series 64GB

Crucial updates quite fast after a bug or issue has been found, and some claim the Samsung SSD's to be one of the best in terms of reliability.

I used to have G530, and it can handle XBMC UI and playback blu-ray with ease......

I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

Agreed. Its a stronger CPU than the A6-3500.

Sweet, then that means I can put the savings, from not having to buy the G630, elsewhere.

bluray - So I may actually take you up on the Radeon 6450, since I think the 430 may be unnecessary in my situation. It sounds like you have experience with the 6450, can you vouch for it's capability of 1080p content? How about ~15-30GB .mkv files? Because really, that's all I plan to do with the card, and if it can handle that perfectly fine, then I don't see the need for the 430. Just want to make sure it can perform flawlessly.

My HD6450 can handled anything that my GT430 can handles, and some blu-ray disc is nearly 50GB.....

Wait. So just read that the G530 cannot handle 3D content because of some issue with HDMI 1.4a. Is that in reference to the iGPU or is the processor not powerful enough to handle it? Can the discrete GPU solve this limitation?

Only the i3/i5/i7 can handle 3D. The Celeron and Pentium cannot but it has nothing to do with the strength of the CPU and everything to do with marketing as Intel wants you to buy the iGPU of the more expensive "i" series to get this feature.

What you can do is buy the G540 and a discrete card and have the best of both worlds. If you have a microcenter nearby the G540 is an amazing $35 for a CPU that is very capable and stronger than the A6-3500.

Sweet. Thanks for clarifying that. And that's the setup I have going now.

Can you put the G540 on a motherboard that would also accept the new Ivy Bridge CPUs that are just coming out?

Yes. I am doing exactly that with a G620 in an HTPC build that I am doing now.

HTPC1: Intel Pentium G620, 4GB RAM, AMD HD6570, Samsung 830 SSD, Silverstone GD05 case.
HTPC2: AMD Athlon II X2 255, 4GB RAM, AMD HD5450, Western Digital HDD, Silverstone ML03 case.
HTPC3: AMD E350, 4GB RAM, AMD HD6310, OCZ Agility 3 SSD, Akasa Crypto case.
Media Server: i3-3220, 8gb RAM, WHS 2011, 8tb capacity, Fractal Design ARC Midi R2 case.

Here are some pictures of the build, pictures are from my iPod Touch as it is the only device I have to take picutres. First time building a PC, went fairly smoothly. Not completely done with the cable management and I forgot to buy some zip-ties, so keep that in mind. Bought two fans initially, but I'm gonna see how it goes with just one.

Build is very quiet. Getting about the same temperatures I was when everything was running outside the case. First time using an SSD - cannot believe the boot times! 120GB for the boot drive is somewhat of an overkill. Have most of the software I need installed, except for XBMC and anything related, and have 93.6GB free - not sure what else I'll fill it up with.

Next project - media server.

Very nice snowboarder33. How are the SilenX's? Do you feel they are helpful?
