Win Large audio files - choppy playback
#1
Whenever I try to play large MP3 files (1-2 hour long sets), the sound hangs up, stutters every couple of seconds, sounds choppy. Almost sounds like a buffering issue. I can record an audio sample if that'd help diagnose the problem.

My audio library is on a NAS with 1 Gbps NIC, so throughput shouldn't be an issue. All my other PCs/media players play the same content without a hiccup. Audio is sent over COAX (digital) from my HTPC to an A/V receiver. It plays smaller files just fine and it streams internet radio just fine as well.

What could be the problem? I had this problem as far back as I remember, even in version 10.

Thanks!

Here is the debug log:

And here is an audio sample:

The larger the file, the worse it stutters.

FYI, it is not a problem with the digital COAX output itself since the same file will play just fine on the same machine when I play it with another media player such as Foobar2000. The stuttering only happens in XBMC.

I don't have any visualisations in Foobar. Besides, what does Foobar have to do with XBMC?
