Problem - Blank TV Banners
#1
Hi

I've got a slight issue whereby some of my tv shows are not showing their TV banner image, just a blank banner with the tv show name on it.

For me it's affecting the following tv shows:
The Big Bang Theory
The Middle
Homeland

All of my other tv series are fine. For these affected tv series above, i get all of the other artwork displaying fine, and when i go into tv show information i can see that the banner icon is there, just not pulling through to the front TV menu screen.

I've tried replacing the default banner image with an alternative, and i've tried removing the tv show and re-adding, but they're still blank

Anyone any ideas, as searching through here suggests that this has been an issue for a while?

try refreshing the show by bring up the context menu, you may also be able to go to select thumb and grab a new one, or go with the local thumb. Hope that helps clear things up.

Make sure "use banner.jpg for banner viewtypes" is selected in the viewtype settings.

Thanks but ive already tried that several times. Ive refeshed and manually selected an alternate banner image, but neither work, on any of the affected tv series.

I dont have that option.

Im in the tv shows main option, in the side menu, and ive selected viewtypes. I can see three main option groups, Backdrop, Viewtype and General Options, but theres no option for banner types under any of those that i can see.

Hold on, just got to this menu a different route and an see that ive got bannerplex selected. The option selected eas already set to use bann.jpg for banner style viewtypes. When i disable this option i get the missing bannners, but most of my other banners become squashed / stretched.

then a) you don´t have those images or b) your texture file is broken. try what i proposed.

Hi Phil

I can't see the path your suggesting (userdata/database folder). I'm looking in program files\xbmc\userdata but i only have 3 xml files and a pictureicon folder.

Thanks for the support.

I've located and deleted the textures db file, but it's still stretching certain banner images.

Assuming it will work for any new series i add, it's not a massive issue now for me to load the appropriate banners manually.

then you don´t have the needed banner.jpgs.

Okay, deleted the file, but that doesn't fix the issue, and some of the other banner art are still squashed. It looks as though it's using the DVD cover art and compressing it to fit into a banner size (confirmed as I can see this when it's in the TV Information context menu option).

Anyway, I've resolved this by reloading the appropriate banner images for the broken ones.

Thanks to all.
