Disable background animation zoom

How can I disable the background animation while browsing the file menus and addons. Having animation turned on eats up 50% of my GPU power and makes the fan start whirling.

There is an option to disable the animation but I only see it for the Main Menu. When im in the main menu where animation is disabled, GPU utilization is at 1-2%.

Media menu --> Viewtype settings --> Animated toggle under backdrop section

Thanks. Didn't know that setting was hidden in a different area outside of System > Skin > settings
