Just a few ideas being a tech nerd....
Does thetvdb use any type of reverse proxy or WAN optimization appliances? Such is Riverbed Steel head or anything like that?
Also, to try to offload the bandwidth from thetvdb and themoviedb, could the XBMC Team put some sort of bit torrent like feature into the builds? For example, I want to get a thumbnail for Avatar, my XBMC client would go out and query other peoples XBMCs for images for Avatar before it would attempt to query thetvdb or themoviedb.
