Advice on TV show renaming needed
#1
I have a large (several TB) collection of poorly named TV shows and episodes that have been collecting over the years.
The naming in some is crazy and there is absolutely no consistency.

So far, the best application I have found to help me with this is "Name My TV Series" http://tweaking4all.com/applications/vid...ries-files.

In this, I can search for a TV series, grab the episode list and then open my folder of TV episodes and attempt to match up the files with the episodes. It is slightly laborious but it works better than anything else I have tried so far (e.g. therenamer).

This application does however have a few annoyances - e.g. it will try and include invalid symbols in file names and there isn't much choice of file name conventions.
The code doesn't appear to be available (and even if it was I doubt I'd want to have a go at it since apparently it's written in "Lazarus" - http://tweaking4all.com/applications/vid...ries-files).

Anyway, if anyone knows of a better way to accomplish my task, I would be very grateful.

SickBeard does a really great job and I have used TVRenamer and theRenamer in the past as well. If you want a simple RegEx renamer, ReNamer is awesome. It takes a long time to fix your data but when its right, there is not a much better feeling in the world. :-) Good luck and I hope this helps!

Same here, really a useful piece of software, as well as keeps a constant naming scheme for all shows
