MC-1200 Remote with XBMCBuntu Eden
#1
Hi guys,

I have a MS-Tech MC-1200 HTPC case and in the past i followed this: http://krautmaster.is-a-chef.com/wiki/in...figuration tutorial to map my remote.

With the new XBMCbuntu installed I tried exactly the same but no response. Basic keys work tough, but I can't map them with Lircmap.xml. Also irw does not recognize any keys I give in. This did work on xbmclive.

I think it has something to do with the new 3.0 Linuxkernel. Can someone help me out?

Thanks in advance

I would guess that remote just emul;ates a keyboard. It probably sends the Windows Media Center keyboard shortcuts like ctrl-shift-P for Play. A debug log (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Log_File) will tell you if the remote is sending keystrokes, and if so what keystrokes it's sending.

I think you are right. But what I can't find out is why irw does not display anything. I need irw to work so I can see what the name of the keys are to put in Lircmap.xml

Don't use irw. XBMC will work out of the box with remotes that send the WMC keystrokes. If you need to modify key mappings use keyboard.xml (http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Mod...yboard.xml).

Would you mind sharing your keyboard.xml?

I really have no clue how to create one myself.
I'm using XBMC for Windows, but I don't think thats a problem, right?
