I just started ripping my movie collection using "makemkv" yesterday and I must be doing someting wrong...
I ripped the dvd "The Matrix" for example and then scanned my library.
when I go back to the main screen in xbmc and go to movies, there is about 10 listings for "The Matrix"
some are only a couple of minutes long and acouple are the full movie but different audio or aspect ratios.
How do I make it so there is only one listing for the movie ??
In "make mkv" it lists the files but I didn't know which ones to select or deselect...

Usually MakeMKV skips the small stuff, and you're left with a large file or two.. Playing the various video files will give you and idea of what is the movie and what is extraneous. Questions on ripping and specific software is best left to support forums for that software.

I would certainly recommend Handbrake, all in one motion to one file.
