ASRock, however, has included 2 extra ASMedia SATA III connectors on their B75 motherboards, for a total of 3 SATA III connectors. How these compare to the Intel SATA III connector I don't know.

Well... that's my cir receiver so far Smile Couldn't even mount it to the perforated side cover because it only came with 2 bolts for mounting the pcb to the bracket. No bolts to mount the bracket to anything else.

It is working beautifully tho. Didn't have to do any setup at all, even in bios. After the initial power up, it would do everything in openelec, and it would both power the pc off and on. Nice.

About i3-3225 being overkill... Yeah you're right.
I guess I just wanted a most powerful cpu that I could run cool from a pico psu and didn't require a separate video card. Read
http://www.anandtech.com/show/5773/intel...spective/3
about the hd4000 being better then llamo and that was it...

About hd bitstreaming on ivy (sandy?) / openelec. I've read somewhere it will be available in frodo, and there's actually a way to make it work on eden... just can't find that post right now...

My mistake, I was looking at the B75M, and not the B75M-ITX

If I build a powerful Intel i3-3225 XBMC HTPC, I'll be sure to fully utilize it with Windows 7/8.....

Here's the link for intel HBR stream patch for linux:

Don't have a 7.1 setup. That's more for the future. Using synology nas for my other needs.

CpTHOOK why would I choose i3-2100 with hd2000 / 65W instead of is-3225 with hd4000 / 55W if the price difference is only $25?

BTW anyone knows what the requirements are going to be for h.265 playback?

Also wandering how I can check for the exact frame rate output?

Great question!! ...And I'm assuming your referring to the XBMC Slim-2100 build!

In short.. you absolutely wouldn't? As of today, you have lots more options than when I built my machine. The Liano processors were not available at that time and the SB 2100 was highly recommended within the forum for XBMC use and 1080p processing. Less the 23.976 Hz video output issue and MACRO which as far as I've read, is still not fixed in IB, please inform us if it has been! Although the 2100 SB makes a pretty good All-In-One CPU for HTPC'n, as of today it's not needed to achieve optimal HTPC performance using XBMC due to it's price and power consumption which you previously noted.

One thing you should understand is that most members here in XBMC tend to shoot toward and recommend the most economical options while maximizing performance. This is the primary reason for the sticky HTPC recommendations. As of today, your CPU choice for HTPC'n is a bit odd while there are other more economical options available which will achieve the same result. YES, we like to see the newest and brightest on the scene but when it's overkill we will ask questions! As for me please be patient, as my goal is not to criticize your choice but only to find out more about your choice in an attempt to learn something about HTPC'n that I might not know!

....enjoy your new HTPCWink

So... Found those fancy bars:
http://www.avforums.com/forums/streamers...-test.html

And now that I know what judder and tearing is... Smile

So with a display that can play 23.967 natively... with "Adjust display refresh rate to match video" on and "Vertical blank sync" and "Sync playback to display" off you don't get any tearing on nvidia cards what so ever?
(pls check on faster.23.976.mkv)

Maybe I should look for that updated bios...

Which number are we looking for? 23.98 in the bottom line looks rounded...

It says 0 dropped frames, source video is 23.976 but output is 23.98. Not sure if it is rounded or not - perhaps someone else would know?

What settings are you using? e.g. sync display to video?

This page is a little bit helpful:

I don't think you'll get perfect 23.976 any time soon......I couldn't get it with my AMD GPU either.....as long as you are happy with what you see on your big screen, that is all it matter......
