Question
Hi everyone!
I'm new here, so don't be too harsh if this question been asked 100 times before, I'm just not sure how to search for it. My ISP has their dedicated TV program (modified VLC, or just an added playlist?), that looks like this.
My question: Can I add those channels to XBMC to view them more easily? If so, can you post a guide or redirect me to one?
Thanks in advace,
AckRite

Streaming TV programs

directly in XBMC using notepad copy this (between the quotes excluding quotes) "rtmp://fms5.visionip.tv/live app=live swfUrl=http://rt.com/s/swf/player5.4.viral.swf pageURL=http://rt.com/on-air/ playpath=RT_3 live=true" and save it as RT.strm and place it in a path you can select it with XBMC, it should play nicely...

There are common lists of these streams and instructions on how to extract these from web pages etc.. due the frequent changing of web URL's etc.. what worked yesterday might not work tomorrow. Drivingmule has made an add-on called Live Streams http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=97116 that allows you to easily make a common list yourself or share a huge common list in which others contribute and update, last I checked I had accumulated thousands of streams, sadly I don't have the time to check them all out... I'm too busy with my media collection Smile

Some links that may come in handy.

Missed a local wiki which pretty well spells it out.

And just in case you think I'm avoiding your original question, it's possible to use VLC as an XBMC player to have your cake & eat it so-to-speak, just follow the wiki for external players. http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=External_players

Many thanks, helped me out quite a bit Smile just need to input my channels, I'll do it when I have some free time. Also, does it lag for anyone else when switching channels? Didn't test on local TV stations, so maybe that's just my connection with other countries bugging out...
