Linux Issue with video playback
#1
Running XBMCbuntu with the last PVR build (just used the install script) and have noticed a weird bug, not sure if its limited to the PVR build or not.

Randomly after around 4 or 5 episodes XBMC loads the video behind the UI, if I try to stop playback XBMC locks up and must be rebooted.

Is this happening to anyone else? A known bug maybe?

I have uploaded my crashlog to Dropbox, anyone more experience willing to take a look or point me in the direction of my problem?

I get the same. Mythbuntu 11.04, 64-bit. Eden-PVR with tsp's libcmyth git pulled last week. There's similar flakiness if I try to fast-forward or rewind and then hit pause or play. Skip seems to work well enough if I'm driving. I had assumed this was an issue with the myth plugin which is still in somewhat of an alpha state. Since I'm sort of motivated to look at other backends, I haven't taken a chance to attempt to diagnose the issue.

I find that it happens with episodes in TV Shows as well as with live TV, must be some kind of issue with the video engine.

similar issue here, if it is the same issue as i have, try disabling vdpau , and check if it hangs

I thought it might have been vdpau, updated the nvidia drivers but it didn't make a difference.

propJohn are you using nvidia hardware as well?

I am. If that's the issue we may have to wait until FernetMenta's vdpau rewrite gets integrated.

You can try a alpha of XBMCbuntu: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=134252 or upgrade from wsnipex ppa. Those builds already have those change.

FernetMenta, is your branch likely to be included in Frodo?
