Yet another new HTPC build - Advice
#1
Been lurking for a while, reading, researching, dreaming, etc... Finally ready to pull the trigger on my first HTPC.
I definitely want to build my own – and I fall into group #6.
I currently have a jailbroken ATV2 with XBMC, and while I like it, it just isn’t enough.

Thanks to - poofyhairguy, eskro , assassin, as well as many others – for all your advice and guidance.
I, as am sure as others, really appreciate all the time and info you guys have provided.
It has made this process a lot easier!

I have a NAS which has all my media; movies, pictures, and music.
I mainly watch movies and TV shows, and occasionally listen to music via the ATV2.
I’m not concerned with 1080p files, as most of my movies are 720p rips. Not interested in gaming.

I think I have narrowed down my build to:
CPU: A6-3500 ($70)
Mobo: ASRock A75M-ITX ($90)
Case/PSU: Silverstone SG05B w/ included 300w 80 Plus certified Bronze PSU ($100)
RAM: G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D – 4GB – ($25)

As for my hard drive, I’ll probably pick up whatever reputable/reliable SSD I can find for $50 - $75. 60GB should be plenty, correct?
I guess I plan on running Win 7 on this box.

Total: ~ $335 - $370

Any suggestions, tips, and/or advice would be greatly appreciated – especially if you have any experience with the parts I listed.
Again, thank you.

I like this memory for the A6-3500.

Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory Model KHX1866C9D3K2/4GX

The GPU in the APU can take advantage of faster memory and for $3.50 more it's worth it IMHO. It's what I sell with my A6-3500 barebones

BTW, if you get the A75M-ITX here: http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=MB-A75MITX you can get $10 off with code "SCRIMMAGE".
