Hey guys.. new to xbmc

When I run xbmc everything is fine. The only issue is when I select a video to play the screen goes black and temporarily and says no video signal. After about 5-10 sec later the video will come back and the file will play. The same happens when i exit a video that is playing. Im guessing the screen resolution tries to change (even though they are set to the same thing) upon entering and exiting the video file. How do I stop this?

I wouldn't think changing screen resolution would take that long..it's usually an instantaneous motion (relatively speaking, micro seconds). You have noted a text indicating 'no signal' and then it plays out... This delay might happen when handshaking is negotiating, or when the system is waiting for a drive to spin up. Turning on the debug log in settings>system will give you a time stamp for all the activities and spotting the 5-10 seconds should be self explanatory. Failing that; post your debug log with http://xbmclogs.com/ and paste a link to it in a message and hopefully someone knowledgeable should help you decipher the log.
