[Windows & Linux] PVR-Addon Builds for Frodo Nightlies
#1
I have created a page for Windows PVR Addon builds here: http://www.dotnetdevelopers.net/XBMC/

These builds do not include XBMC, they are only the add-ons. You can get the XBMC nightlies here -> http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/

Wile E.

EDIT: As of Frodo Beta 3, all distributions contain the PVR add-ons. I will continue to distribute interim builds as needed/wanted on my binaries page.

I apologize if people haven't been able to get to the site, GoDaddy.com hosts my domain names and their DNS servers are currently under attack.

I have updated the links with a direct IP address instead, so you shouldn't have any issues getting to the site now.

It depends somewhat on what hardware you want to use and also the backend software you want to use. I personally use [Windows] MediaPortal -> ForTheRecord -> XBMC.

MediaPortal ties to an HDHomeRun dual tuner and two HD-PVR tuners (4 tuners total.) ForTheRecord then works as middleware between MediaPortal and XBMC. The main reason I use ForTheRecord is has excellent scheduling abilities. To be honest, if ForTheRecord supported HD-PVR tuners I would ditch MediaPortal completely and use it as the sole backend.

If you use Linux on the backend, I've read TVHeadend is a real good choice.

Also can't currently compile (I'm getting an os_windows.h reference missing or something).

With the last compiled version, I must say I'm pretty impressed... been using Windows + MediaPortal + This MP XBMC Plugin and it really works rather nicely.

Only issue is that I can't manually add a recording timer. Other than that, it's actually sort-of working for me :-0

Excited for the next alpha...
Thanks for the builds, wileecoyote!
