At the moment the ivy bridge prices are a bit inflated in the UK,

G2120 £72
i3-3220 £95
i3-3225 £111

Hence why I am looking at the G2120 as I already have an HD6570 that i can use in my HTPC.

HTPC3: AMD E350, 4GB RAM, AMD HD6310, OCZ Agility 3 SSD, Akasa Crypto case.

Just to complete the picture here, my prices:

G2120 - CHF 134
i3-3220 - CHF 140
i3-3225 - CHF 162

Strange that there is such a little range between G2120 and 3220 here compared to UK and Canada.

I have it all together now and so far everything works well.
The only thing is that the fan speed of the CPU is quite loud from times to times. Especially when starting the fans go all nuts.

Do you guys know what bios settings would be appropriate to get a good low fan speed / sufficient cooling going?

On the mobo under HW Monitor set the CPU target to 50 Celsius and the fan speed to 3 or 4.

I think I might be looking at something similar for my build...

Just HOW smooth is it running all your stuff? Tongue

I'm always a bit careful to make such statements. I just have it all set up since a couple of days and only watched like two movies so far.
Of course so far it runs smooth as a smoothie (especially compared to my previous Zotac ND-22), but I won't jump from joy until this system has been running for a couple of months without issues Cool
