XBOX Controller for all Emulators?
#1
Hi guys,

So as many before me, my first post will be a question, forgive me.

I have XBMC set up using windows 7. I have a spare XBOX 360 controller laying around so would like to use that for the emulators I have.

My question is, how can I use this and set this up to be able to control the games for each different emulator? So it will be able to control games on the Gamecube, playstation, mega drive, and super nintendo emulators?

Ideally I don't want to have to do too much before loading a different emulator, it would be nice to be able to play a super nintendo game then straight onto a playstation game without having to re configure controls. Is this possible?

Many thanks in advance.

Most emulators,, in fact all the emulators I use, allow you to use an XBox 360 for Windows controller. All you need to do is set it up in the emulators controller config.

What I think you want to do is setup your pad to work in XBMC via a keymap, then set up RCB to launch your games from XBMC. That should do what you are asking.

Setting up your controller to work in XBMC is tricky because it could have one of a number of names. Luckily, someone has already done the hard part for you here:

RCB is a breeze to set up as long as you read the instructions thoroughly. See the thread here:

As for setting up the emulators, it should be self-explanatory. If not, you will have to see each individual emulators homepage for help, but it shouldn't be difficult.
