For those following this forum there is an excellent XBMC PVR addon coming that supports the NextPVR backend http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=140965 as a service, Shortly after it is released I will be releasing a python addon that supports a lot of the same NextPVR functionality in older versions of XBMC on many platforms for those of you who don't like cutting edge versions or want support on other devices.
Here is a sample of how it is working http://youtu.be/Afqh2hgeR6s
The plugin is working pretty well on the Pivos XS, Linux and Android flavours, as well as on my Cubox, and testing is on-going on the RPi and ATV2 too.
The code is still rough since I hadn't written any python (or XBMC addon) before the beginning of Sept and I am still on a learning curve. I don't take credit for the code it was originally created by antoher user http://forums.gbpvr.com/showthread.php?4...R-FrontEnd using his modifications to MythBox I updated it to use NEWA the NextPVR web service, added the LiveTV and recording playback support, and added other functions that I use and that NEWA web services offer. Anything available through the NextPVR web browser should be available in X-NEWA I have been slowly moving my code to github which reminds me I have been a bit lazy lately.
Anyone who watches the video will notice the older Mayhem3-like skin. That is largely taken from the original code and I'd love to get help from someone with better skinning skins then I have (near zero) wanting to give it a more modern look and feel.
