I am using xbmc on my Windows 8 machine and as remote I use a Xbox 360 wireless controller. After a while the controller shut down and when I try to reactivating/-starting it, xbmc crashes. Xbmc is running in compatibility mode!
Does somebody know this problem and maybe know the solution? I couldn't find any similar thread here.

Eden does not work with xbox 360 wireless pad...you have to install a previous version like eden rc2 or a more recent version, frodo (alpha)

I've found (using xpadder on windows 7) that it works fine as long as I do the following:
Open xbmc with the controller off. Do not turn the controller on until xbmc is up and running fully (widgets loaded, stopped scanning etc.)
Do not push any buttons on the controller until the lights stop flashing.
Never hit the center button while the controller is on. This causes the battery info to display and xbmc loses focus, and sometimes I have to xit xbmc and restart to get the controller to work again.
