Linux how to teach remote
#1
My remote used to work with xbmc but since the upgrade and 12.04 only a few buttons now work.
How can I teach xbmc all of the remote's functions?

Did you check out the link in the wiki page you cited above regarding Linux support?

Seems like a lot of work to get this particular remote to function properly in Linux. It may be simply to just get one of the "knock-off" MCE remotes, such as the VRC-1100 (wiki) which has a proven track record of working on both Windows and Linux platforms.

Yeah,I did that rebuilding kernel thingy in 11.10 but it no longer works in 12.04.
In fact, I'd like to know how to remove it and start from scratch in case it messed anything up TBH - might that kernel change make the new remote not work?
