1 How is this setup for a htpc Group#7?

GIGABYTE GA-Z77M-D3H Z77 S-1155 MATX
CORSAIR 8GB DDR3 VALUE SELECT PC10666 1333MHZ (2X4GB)
OCZ AGILITY 3 2.5" 60GB SSD SATA/600 MLC
INTEL CORE I3 3225 3.30GHZ 3MB S-1155 IVY
SILVERSTONE HTPC SST-ML03B BLACK M-ITX
CORSAIR CX 430W V2 ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V PSU
FRACTAL DESIGN SILENT SERIES 80MM 11DB RETAIL (x2)
Philips/lenovo ir receiver
LOGITECH harmony 200

2 I'm buying two of these and I'm thinking of making one of them a mid weight gamer, would changing the i3 for a Pentium G860 + HD 7750 do the trick?

Intel i3-3225 should make excellent HTPC.....I'm not sure that CX 430w is the right size/fit for ML03B case.....

The sure size/fit is this- Silverstone ST40F-ES PSU. The cooling fan of this PSU is designed to align perfectly with the downward ventilation of ML03B.....

Looks identical on spec and pictures? Huh

How about HD 7750 and G860, any experience with these?

Are you a gamer? If it is for playback blu-ray 1080P video, HD audio, 3d, streaming, etc, Intel HD4000 iGPU should be all you need....

I'm thinking of playing some cs: s/go in 1080p on the tv. And I guess that HD4000 isn't quite gonna cut it if I decide to go for it?

Give the iGPU a try first.....if you are not happy with the iGPU, you can install a discrete GPU later...

Switch the 2x4 for 2x2 and get 1600. You dont need 8 Gb and you would benifite from the 1600.

Personally, I would drop the Z77 board and go with a H77. Only difference between the two is the ability to overclock on the Z chipset, which would require a K series Intel CPU. Save some money and find a H77 board that offers what you need for connections.

As for the CS: S/GO, I just built my HTPC with i3-3225, 8gb RAM, and a ASUS P8H77M Pro, and I maxed out the bar when looking at Systems Requirements Lab for both games

The Z77 was on offer so it was about 30$ cheaper than the H77 Smile

Memory changed for:
CORSAIR 16GB DDR3 VENGEANCE LP PC3-12800 1600MHZ CL9 (4X4GB)
Same price as 2x2x4GB :-)

This setup is starting to look good :-)
