Linux "Failed to initialize audio device" When Skipping or Changing Track
#1
Rainbow
If I have some tunes playing and I skip ahead or choose a different song, I will get "failed to initialize audio device." It seems that if something is currently playing, it has "locked" the audio device and I need to first stop that and then play the next thing. I am sending the audio through "alsa:plughw:1,3" which is an HDMI output on my ATI PCI-e x16 graphics card.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? You can see my audio devices in this other post.

XMBC is really nice so far, just need to get this solved!

Can you try this code in advancedsettings.xml:

Code:
<advancedsettings>
    <audio>
        <streamsilence>1</streamsilence>
    </audio>
</advancedsettings>

System: XBMC HTPC with HDMI WASAPI & AudioEngine - Denon  AVR-3808CI  - Denon DVD-5900 Universal Player  - Denon DCM-27 CD-Changer
- Sony BDP-S580 Blu-Ray  - X-Box 360  - Android tablet wireless remote - 7.1 Streem/Axiom/Velodyne Surround System
If I have been able to help feel free to add to my reputation +/- below - thanks!

Sorry if in wrong place.

I leave my machine on all the time and when I switch to my media center most often than not I have to exit and start back up.
I have tried the silence thing and that didn't work either.
