Hi,
I am running windows7 32-bit and i get the following when i startup XBMC:

CApplication::create failed

what does this mean?

i have run XBMC on my other Windows7 64-bit machine and it starts no problems.

any ideas?

I have seen this error once. Reinstalling xbmc and a restart of the system solved my problem.

Thanks tried that.

I have since discovered I need a gfx card as XBMC can't initialise rendering on my chipset, I was using an old dell dimension 3100(6 years old) with win7 but using the onboard graphics. Trying to find a PCI gfx card is not easy as this pc doesn't have an AGP or PCI-e slot, I did find an NVIDIA 6200 PCI for about £25 eventually.

I wanted to use my iPad/iPhone as a remote so chose XBMC.

The above problem can also occur if the gpu is not up to date.
