<£200 Low power XBMC + TV box
#1
Hello!

I'm currently struggling along with a hacked linux AppleTV 1- it mostly works to play my video library and record on three TV tuners, but it struggles on occasion. My girlfriend likes what it does now and has agreed to drop £200 on upgrades to make everything smoother- but total power draw by the machine needs to stay below 40w average, preferably much less.

Requirements:
USB3/ESata with port multiplier OR 3x HD bay
Can play 1080p blu-ray rips (may use crystalhd)
Record 3x DVB streams
min. 3 USB2/3
< 40w
Gigabit ethernet
Linux

Hardware I already have:
3x2TB HDs in a USB2/3 + eSata store. Currently full of my TV/Movies on BTRFS so switching to windows is unlikely- I'm pretty solid with linux
CrystalHD card
2x2GB DDR3 Dimms (desktop)
60GB SSD.
Nvidia 8400m PCI-E card

So I'm looking for something that (once setup, which I'm willing to invest time into) will be able to play 1080p while recording multiple TV streams onto the hd array (so USB3 or ESata with port multiplier is a must). It should be low power and quiet and if possible, pretty.

Any ideas?
