why should someone want more than 9 custom items?

Exactly. I am still trying to figure out how to use the existing ones. It is difficult to navigate around with so many already. Unless if you are on a system and use remote rather than keyboard then i see the need for more.

exactly. using submenus, icon panels, quicklist and so on is the way to go.

in upcoming nox 4.0 every main menu item is customizable so you practically have 25 custom menu items, perhaps that will satisfy your needs.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but the OP is asking just the question I wanted an answer too. The reason I want more than 9 custom menu items is because I've made the move from Media Browser to XBMC and I had a main 'heading' for each category/genre of movies I have with that setup. I dont like the genre menu item as films show under a variety of genre filters and thats not what I'm looking for.
I've tried to edit the guisettings.xml by duplicating custom 9's code and changing it to 10 and also 0, but they dont show even in the customization menu. I only want one more custom header as my standup comedy, disney, pixar and dreamcast folders sit nicely in the submenu's of the other main headers.

Yeah I did pick that up on my first read through, but was hoping to get the switch to XBMC done today.
When is 4.0 coming out, with XBMC 12 I assume?
Will the 3.6 settings be updated into 4.0 if I get my library setup and then update when released?

and no, skin settings will need a reset.
