Hello All,
I've been lurking around the forums as a guest for a few weeks and decided to purchase the following:
CASE: SILVERSTONE ML03B
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6811163174
PSU: SST SST-ST40F-ES 400W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6817256060
MEM: 2Gx2 Kingston KHX1600C9D3P1K2/4G
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6820104254
MB: ASUS P8H77-M/CSM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6813131831
CPU: INTEL CORE I3 3225 3.3G 3M
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116774
CPU COOLER: SCYTHE SCBSK-2100
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6835185174
SSD: 64G CRUCIAL CT064M4SSD2
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6820148441
HD: Western Digital WD Green WD25EZRX 2.5TB 64MB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6822136873
I've connected everything but the power will not stay on past 1 sec or so. I have power to the MB (as indicated by a green light on the MB). I push the case power button and I see the CPU fan spin but only for a sec then it stops.
While troubleshooting, I've disconnected all power to SSD, HD, DVD, etc.. but no luck. MB sill wont power up.
I've built PCs before but have never encountered this issue.
Thermal Paste: One thing I happened to do while applying the Cooler to the CPU was accidentally get a "sting line" of paste on the board which was touching some other metal solder points. - Is this the cause of my issue?
I placed the RAM in Does RAM placement have a bearing on this? The reason I ask is because of the Cooler. I had to put the RAM in the "B" slots.
Thank you in advance.
LS
