I can also confirm that adding <import addon="script.module.requests" version="2.4.3"/> to the Dailymotion addon.xml file, and also using the default.py from alibaba011- Post: #158 https://copy.com/fh0Zj6Dj3lkpqYyz?download=1 has got the Dailymotion add on working for me.

It's probably because something like this is missing in the addon.xml:

<import addon="script.module.requests" version="2.4.3"/>

I can confirm that adding this line on the addon.xml fixed my issue on the Amazon Fire TV. Thanks!


Does anyone know if there's a way to play a "playlist" ? Right now, the plugin just opens up the playlist, but I still have to play each video in the playlist individually.

I found the addon.xml but after adding the line above it still fails to play back.

Where exactly in the addon.xml do you insert the required code.

To play playlist highlight the first video in the playlist and bring up the context menu and select play from here, this will play all the files in the playlist.

The above fix is not working for me: I downloaded the file (plugin.video.dailymotion_com213.zip) on my PC and transferred it to my TV box on a memory stick. Installed and the add-on was enabled but still no video playback. What am I doing wrong? I am running Kodi 14.00.

You could try this:

1. Uninstall the addon like this: http://kodinow.com/2015/06/how-to-uninst...di-add-on/
2. stop kodi
3. start kodi
4. install the zip like this (don't unzip the zip yourself): http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_add..._zip_files

If it still does not work, a log file is needed to find out what's wrong: http://kodi.wiki/view/Log_file/Easy

SUCCESS!!! I followed the instructions above (Post #171) and all is now working perfectly. In addition, I made it a clean re-install by deleting first the old add-on file in the Profile Directory. Thank you Skipmode A1 (and alibaba011) for your great help in resolving this problem. Cheers & beers!

SPOKE A LITTLE TOO SOON ~ almost there but getting "script failed" error on, for instance, Laurel & Hardy movies (shorts and features, b/w / colour). These were working.....?

The addon fix worked for me but I have noticed one problem regards playing the videos.

I watch some of the old classic tv and if the user has uploaded the full episode then the video will play.

If the episode however is split into a playlist the video will not play.

Appreciate people taking the time to get the addon working again.
