Any PVR backend support timeshifting at this point?

I'm not quite happy with Mediaportal interface, xbmc look much better, however their TVserver is really good.. but at this point I'm ready to go with whatever PVR work best at this time ( windows or linux ).

Thanks!

The MediaPortal PVR addon supports (basic) timeshifting. Don't expect it to work flawlesly and in the same way as you have in MediaPortal but basic pause, rewind and fast forward should work with the latest Frodo nightlies and recent addons (both should be newer than October 9th 2012).

Other options with timeshifting are ForTheRecord (although the PVR addon is temporarely disabled at the moment due to some pending changes for XBMC) and MythTV.

Please don't take offense, but.

Why doesn't it "work flawlessly" ? Is the timeshifting code weak or is it plugin problem or xbmc problem ?

Thanks margro, I will give it a try. I wasn't sure if your code made it to the nightlies.

I think he's saying that there are still bug / work in progress, this is still alpha.

I'll report problems when I encounter them.

@kra77: I mean that the functionality is there and it is supposed to work, but the PVR addon side is still work in progress.
The XBMC side also needs some further attention.
The current way of navigating though the timeshift buffer at the XBMC side can still be improved.
The progress bar display also does not yet clearly show the distance between the play position and the recording position (end of the buffer), so it is difficult to see the delay time.
