I've been using XBMC for quite a while but have always used the default Confluence skin although I've tried Aeon and a few others but just briefly.

However, I've seen the terms ClearArt and ClearLogos before and it looks like they transparent artwork and logos. Am I correct? Is there any other type of artwork?

Also, what skins support these extra artwork features?

I wish there a metadata faq/wiki that explained all the extra metadata and artwork that can be used, etc.

This may help http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Com...20features

There is also disc art... the graphics you find on a disk. You might consider the add-on Artwork Downloader, it will fill any gaps you've missed collecting all this eye candy. Clear Art and Clear logos have as you suspected, transparent backgrounds.

Thanks! That is very helpful...

What is the best way to organize all of my metadata? I'm thinking about "starting over" and cleaning out everything and refreshing it all using Artwork Downloader (or something else perhaps?)

I'm not sure how you have your collection configured... each in separate folders of the same name, or a dump flat file structure... How big and by corollary how much work involved? Like a lot of things in XBMC, very user configurable... and the direction which suits your needs best. (large scale, nas, sound system, multiple heads etc.) If I were you .... and not knowing you Smile I would start with the most general mainstream set-up possible following the recommendations of the multiple users and articles on this subject. Then as your confidence and skills become more sophisticated, look at your own personal needs and customize to your hearts content (I'm envious now). Watch out for those streaming add-ons outside the repository, most are not to be trusted although they do take XBMC to a new level, they are written by users who may not adhere to nominal guidelines for code structure.

Artwork Downloader is fascinating, in that it will subtract artwork if you specify less... it auto magically makes the extrafanart folders etc... so cleaning out is kinda redundant given the low cost of mass storage. Check the faqs and Wiki's for best types of set-ups and do a search on Youtube for 'XBMC' and check out the many setups and Tips & Tricks an hour now will save you plenty in the future... I love the Aeon Nox tutorials. Here's a few links out of the box that are worthy.

A little late for a reply I guess but you can use Ember-MM to scrape all this in a frodo friendly format. It will get all info fanart posters and you can manage sets easy in it, plus download trailers or at least et them in the nfo.
