looking for linux dvb card
#1
Hi,

Hi currently use a avermedia 007 on my server which works with a firmware on linux. It works great but it takes about 25sec to load the firmware... (could post my dmesg if you want), and i havent found a way to accelerate it.
As i suspend my server and wake up it with wol, it's quite disturbing.

So i'm looking for a pci/usb DVB-card which works perfectly with suspend/resume.
To start i looked at linuxtv to find a card without firmware but couldt find any (i have a doubt on cx88 based card).
So i hope you could advice me.

Bibi

It's hard to give recommendation because you haven't mentioned whether you looking for DVB-T, C, or S. In case of DVB-S(2) I'd recommend TBS. I have a 6921 which does not require firmware and a QBox2 (USB) which has no problems loading the firmware.

For dvb-t I recommend the Sony playtv. Works out of the box and is rock solid - I use suspend/resume and I've never had a problem with it.
