how do you add a button to the home menu?
let just say the button is name automation

what im trying to do is

I've built a mp3 multi room audio server using winamp and a old pc everything works perfectly and now i would like to do my best to get it to work with xbmc adding the button connected to a gui is my first try if not i will have to make it webbase

That's skin dependent. You'll need to spend a little time learning how the skining system works and edit your desired skin

Many skins already allow the use of favourites and other things being added to the home screen. Perhaps it depends what you are wanting to do

thank for the response i have been going over the skinning wiki for the last hour think i might know how now

lrusak i want to beable to call up a gui interface im working on at the moment where you will be able to

-zone you want to play
-control vol

someone said i should write it as a plug in but would that give me quick access with out having to go thru several screens to get to it
