Asus GeForce GT430 1080p playback problem
#1
Hello all,

I've recently installed my HTPC with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

HTPC Specs:
Intel Core I3 2100 + 4GB RAM
Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3
Asus GeForce GT430 DC SILENT/DI 1GB

Now, my problem is the following:
With the recommended Nvidia drivers installed, I experience heavy jitter in XBMC and less jitter in for example movie player. In movie player I mostly notice it when the camera is panning huge sceneries. I tested several options in XBMC to improve this but without succes.
As a last resort I tried with the onboard HDMI and to my big surprise, the same movie, with the same XBMC installation plays smooth. I didn't even touch any options, just uninstalled the graphics card and bam, the jitter is gone. At least in my first tests. So this tells me it is a hardware problem rather than a problem in XBMC.
It would be easy to go and try in the familier windows, but I do want to get this fixed within Ubuntu. I'm no pro, bot not the biggest noob either so do you guys have any advice apart from selling my graphics card to help me further?

Thanks in advance,
Skrit.
