Hello
Is it possible to add the advanced post editor instead of the quick reply one per default or per user settings?
I ask because as is any tags and additional formatting have to be typed manually and its a pita having to do it each single time, or having to press preview post just to access the advanced editor.
Other forums usually have a option per user on control panel that enables advanced formatting options, as default myBB has only enable quick reply or not.
TIA

Ok I found the solution but this has to be added by the forum maintainers
http://mods.mybb.com/view/advanced-quick-reply-form and BB forum code(!)

It would help a great deal this enhancement

I'm actually not sure if I like it. A quick reply is a quick reply, nothing more. And honestly, how often is text formatting really needed? If it was easy to adjust/limit the available buttons I'd probably won't have a objection, but as it's unfortunately not I don't like that.

Often enough to justify the request, for me its almost every post, but ok, you dont like it, lets just leave usability as is.
Thanks for a honest reply. I dont suppose you have a better solution?

I just use PREVIEW POST (as you'd mentioned in your first post) to get the full editing window for formatting assistance. Yes, it's an extra button to click, but, unless the reply is simply text, I typically select PREVIEW POST anyway so I can verify formatting before submitting.

@
da-anda and crew.
Please reconsider adding this by default... Reasons are more obvious that users are dim and dont often realise that they can post screenshots and other info which we require for providing support,
See...
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1601144 and
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=182924 as two recent examples...
I come across users that always cant see basic things like screenshot adding and its terrible ppl (WE/I) have to tell users how to use the forum to provide information in first place. SImply not good enough usability from a forum that its main purpose is to gather information.
