Batch file/autoit script
#1
Hi folks,

Firstly, I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I am not really sure where else to post this.

Ok, here goes. Basically I have 2 PC's in 2 separate rooms. In the living room an Acer Revo RL70 running as a full HTPC and in the office a high end I7 gaming rig.

Sometimes, I enjoy gaming in the living room on the 50 inch TV and I am looking for a way to launch my games via XBMC on the Acer (with advance launcher pointing to the .exe files of the chosen game on the I7 rig) sending the video from the I7 to the TV (this part I have sorted with the help an auto hdmi switcher) and the sound to a lovely pair of Creative Gigaworks T40's I have hooked up to the RL70.

I have the ability to input 2 audio sources on the T40's into the same channel via a multi 3.5mm jack splitter (tested and working). So, what I am looking for is help creating a batch file that replaces all of the game .exe's individually, when launched switches the video output on the I7 monitor to the TV (this part I'm ok with as I have tested before) and also changes the audio output to that of the T40's from the office speakers.

I understand that Win7 does not allow scripts to change audio sources as a security measure, but I have found a thread on the autoit forum that provides a script to toggle the sound output.

I was wondering if it would be possible to integrate this script within a batch file rather than a keymap as I want this to be as seamless as possible.

In an ideal world, this would allow me to navigate my game library via advance launcher on the RL70, launch a game that triggers the I7 to change the video source (automatically switching to it on the TV thanks to the HDMI switcher), toggles the audio output from the speakers in the office to the T40's (with the aid of the autoit script) and then reverses all of this once the game is exited.

I know this might be a big ask but hopefully someone on here may be able to help, or at least point me in the right direction.

Also, if you feel I am over complicating this, feel free to say. If you have an alternative solution or suggestions, please fire away.

Lastly, the games will be controlled by a wireless Xbox 360 controller (heathen, I know!), hooked up to the I7. This has been tested at the distance I require and should not be an issue.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi folks,

Still looking for help with this issue. If anyone could suggest a more suitable sub forum/specialist forum to post this in I could move the thread over there.

Thanks
