I'm trying to create a playlist for a folder of music videos I have, which I've added as a source to XBMC (although without a scrapper) and I've created a playlist with the condition of PATH CONTAINS and my music video directory, but the playlist doesn't play and if I try to play it in party mode (just to see what it would do) XBMC tells me the playlist is empty, even after I updated my library to be sure.

You need to scrape the music videos. Smart Playlists only works with media in your library, i.e. scraped content.
