Bug Windows 8 - Exiting XBMC
#1
Thumbs Down
When I try to close XBMC with the exit option within the UI it just hangs and does not close.

If in windowed mode I click the windows close X at the top right corner, the window vanishes but XBMC is still running in the background and you need to use task manager to force the task to end.

My PC details are found here: http://pcspec.abcde.co.uk

XBMC 11.0 and XBMCSetup-20121107-92b2a1b-master have the exact same issue.

I noticed that it hangs but after ~30 seconds it closes fine. I'm using XBMC 11 and Windows 8 Final.

Its allllways done this to me on windows 7, now its doing it in windows 8. Its not particular to windows 8.

I created a taskkill bat file aimed at killing xbmc's process. I then mapped it to my green button on the remote via eventghost and told it to execute the bat file when I hold down the green button for 3 seconds.

I also have the green button set to lunch xbmc on a single press...
So in effect, the green button launches and also kills xbmc.

Very handy.
