There has been a commit to change "directsound" to the default in the next beta. Thanks everyone for reporting.

Something changed in the way python scripts were handled after 11-11-2012, i have tried with the 11-11-2012 nightly and it works perfectly with my free cable plugin, if I change to any build after 11-11-2012 the script fails:

debug log for 11-11-2012: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=15781
debug log for 11-12-2012: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=15780

Please create a bug report on http://trac.xbmc.org and post your debug logs there. Also please CC "jfcarroll" as he most likely knows what's the matter there.

I have developed a weird problem happening on my three xbmc12 installs, though not confirmed the issue is that after I run a registry and file cleaning program called ccleaner, that then many of my movies posters and fanarts are not showing up.

I will not be able to look into the issue until tonight but has anyone else experienced this, also a possible culprit seems to be my 6 music videos (.mp4 format) that I tried to scan in, xbmc12 seems to get all wonky when I try this, certain videos missing and one got stuck in a stuttering mode when I tried to play it.

Has anyone else experienced missing movie posters and fanart after running the file cleaner portion of clceaner, I would be very interested to hear.

thanks

I solved it. It was rather stupid.
A while back there was a problem with ATI drivers. Some one mentioned in these forums to run XBMC in compatibility mode ( Xp sp3).
I switched this off and suddenly wasapi and dxva were back.
