Linux Internet browser with xbmc?
#1
Is it possible to have a tab on your home screen that will launch an internet browser? Right now I just minimize xbmc and then use that browser from the desktop but it would be great if I could skip that step. I have seen a few tutorials about this using other skins (Neon, Aeon) but I have never seen one for Transperancy which is my favorite skin.

show me those tutorials and i'll tell you how to do it in Transparency!

i think most users would use the advanced launcher addon to launch their internet browser?

The first is a tutorial to launch firefox from the addons and the second is a tutorial on adding an internet tab to the main menu. This is in Aeon, however, which personally doesn't hold a candle to Transparency Smile

Where I am currently stuck is when it tells to you go to the ‘~/.xbmc/skin/Aeon/720p/Includes_MainMenu.xml’ because I can't seem to find the equivalent of that in transparency

ok, if you've completed the first tutorial (created a launcher and added it to favourites)
all you need to do is go to settings > skin settings > menu
and add the favourite to one of the custom home menu buttons.

no xml editing needed Smile
