Win Upload speed when streaming issue
#1
Hello all,

I just purchased NAS Synology DS 412+ for streaming in my LAN. When I tested the D/L and Up load speed from my nas, it worked just fine with 100+mb/s

However, when I ran XMBC and tried to stream Blu-ray movie with DTS-HD, the upload speed seem to be only 3-4mb /sec, which impossible to run it.

I tried all method of connection:
SMB
UPNP
MAP DRIVE:
all same issue

Any ideas?

My PC Detail:
Window 7
I7 550TI
XMBC FRODO 12.0
Gigabyte Lan with Cat 6 cable.

NAS:
Synology DS 412+

Thanks for all of reply in adance

No, I suspect something else is happening.
When you open the copy the same file within windows on the XBMC machine, does it go faster ?

You might just have wrong audio settings causing you being unable to playback.
Could you try playing the video from local storage first to rule this out?
Also, please upload a debug log (wiki) when the issue occurs.

Kibje,

Many thanks for your reply. At least, I know that is abnormal.

I did try to copy same file from my nas to XBMC machine and I got good result 90+ mb/sec
I also try to play this same file (the file is in XMBC machine's HD) with DTS-HD setting and it works perfectly. (It shows DTS-HD on my AV receiver)

Problem will only occur when I was trying to streaming file with DTS-HD option. (it's laggy and no sound)

I will work with log file tonight when I'm home.

Please also update to 12.2, it contains only bugfixes to 12.0 which you have no reason to be running anymore.

You can just install 12.2 over 12.0 and every addon and setting will be saved.

Please start debugging mode, then restart your system and play the local file.
Close it and upload the log to http://xbmclogs.com

Restart XBMC, play the same from the NAS and close it, then upload that log to http://xbmclogs.com.
Then disable debugging.

Use the way explained in the wiki way to easily upload a debug log (wiki).

I want to compare the local and remote playing of this file.

Kibje,

I did try to play local file from HD but I don't know what happened because it also has same problem like when I play from my NAS now.
Yesterday was fine (REALLY!) I did clear install today when I tried to install 12.2.

I found something straight on my AVR today. Adaptive DRC is flashing rapidly when I was playing DTS-HD file. (Other file is no flashing)
I tried to play from Power DVD just now (Trial). It can pass thought DTS-HD no problem

http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=28092 for nas

Thank a lot

Your audio settings are wrong, you seem to be using Directsound instead of Wasapi.
From the log it seems that wasapi is working fine.(line 18 to 34)

Can you make a screenshot of your audio settings, upload it to http://imgur.com and link/embed it here ?

More info on audio settings on Windows here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=146911

Kibje,

Thanks for all your help. I am really appreciated.

After, I read your post about WASAPI, I changed it and it works perfectly now.
I think the clean uninstall works when I uninstalled 12.0 but I forgot to change to WASAPI after re-install 12.

Thanks so much!!
