Live TV Pause
#1
Hi guys

I have noticed for a while pausing live TV is not working. All other live TV features are fine including recording, EPG etc. If i hit pause in the live TV menu, nothing happens (I do remember a few months back, this working fine).

Setup:
OS: OS X 10.8.2
XBMC Version: Beta1
TV Backend: TVHeadend 3.2

Debug Log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=14940

I had a look around System - Live TV and cant see anything obvious there to enable pausing. Also checked the PVR client settings in Addons and nothing there either.

Does anyone have any info on this?

Hopefully this is in the correct place......

Pausing live tv is not yet supported for the TVHeadend backend.
So why did it accidentally work in the past? I guess that you are probably using a different skin than Confluence. What actually happened is buffering in memory. Real live TV pausing requires timeshift support (or starting a recording on disk with delayed playback).
I've seen that adamsutton is working on that but it is not yet part of the current addon as far as I know.

Ah ok. I will monitor adamsutton's development with TVHeadend. Thanks for that. I am not sure why it worked before. When I first started testing PVR with XBMC I was using Eden PVR builds from here http://xbmc.picmania.org/index.php?dir=osx%2F - This was a while ago and I am 99.9% sure pausing live tv worked (although not very well).

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction margro!
